Pasta with Peas

Dinner tonight was PASTA WITH PEAS! This one's definitely going down permanently in my recipe book.

 Ingredients
12 oz box bowtie pasta cooked {save a little pasta water to thin sauce}. I actually used a little less, about 3/4 box b/c I didn't want too many leftovers.
6 strips bacon cooked
1 cup frozen green peas

Alfredo sauce
1/2 stick butter
1 cup half and half
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:
Cook bacon. I always bake it in the oven on a cookie sheet lined with foil at 350 degrees for approximately 15 minutes. Easy clean-up!

Cook pasta according to box.

For sauce -  melt butter on stove using low heat, add half and half, Parmesan cheese, and salt and pepper.

Stir frozen peas in sauce. Add pasta. Top with diced cook bacon. To thin sauce, add a little pasta water if needed.

Serve with a giant piece of garlic bread.

Hope you enjoy.

  2. I make this same dish, but instead of bacon I use cubed ham and I use penne pasta. I saute the ham in a little minced garlic too. It's a great toddler dish!

I'm perusing your list of recipes tonight trying to get out of my dinner funk of cooking the same things over and over again :) Thanks!
