Back in January, I saw on someone's blog (that I can't find now) their New Year's resolution to not buy salad dressing. I really bonded with that idea 1) because I'm not super crazy for store bought salad dressing and 2) when I do buy it, it sits in fridge for years (or at least until it expires which can seem like years). Now, I am not swearing bottled dressing off entirely, but my goal is to lean toward making more salad dressing and using less store bought. I've been doing this for about a month now and I love it.
Here is a GREAT little dressing I picked up from my mom...super EASY.
a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil
a drizzle of white balsamic vinaigrette
No exact proportions. EASY!!!!!!!
If you join this band wagon, puh-lease let me know if you find a good recipe!
SB -- If I ever cook again, I will send you recipes. Like I said, I have a great book that Big George created for me that I'd love for you to see. (I'll will it to you, but I hope it will be a long time before you get it that way!)
ReplyDeleteIt's a notebook with all of the handwritten recipes people have given me through the years. I think you would love it. There are quite a few Chuck and Big George recipes in it.
this is a great salad dressing if you are a big balsamic vinegar fan, the dried mustard is what makes it great (I got this from a friend), I serve it on greens w/ red onions, apples and diced chicken:
ReplyDelete1 1/3 c. olive oil
1/2 c. balsamic
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
2 t salt
1 t onion powder
1/2 t pepper
1/2 t dry mustard
1/4 t smoked paprika
1 clove crushed garlic
