adapted from my friend L's recipe
Homemade Granola!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made it this morning and it is certainly not the first time and it will not be the last. It goes so perfectly atop some organic strawberry yogurt.
2 cups rolled oats
1/4 - 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup slivered almonds
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
Thoroughly mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Then spread on greased cookie sheet. Heat oven to 250 degrees. Bake granola for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and give it a toss with a spatula. Repeat 5 times, placing it back in the oven for 15 minutes at a time. When it is golden brown remove and allow to cool before serving.
